“How will Facebook monetize Instagram?”
Since Facebook bought Instagram in September of 2012, this has been on the minds of many stakeholders. In November of 2013, just over one year later, Instagram ran its first advertisement.
It is not surprising then, that Instagram launched a Vimeo spotlighting ‘benchmark’ brands on its business site. Instagram for Businesses is a site dedicated to providing businesses with tips, brand spotlights, API examples and news.
Is the future of Instagram reliant on brand advertising? Definitely. Facebook is getting ready to monetize its acquisition. Slowly but surely, Instagram is positioning itself to win favor with mobile advertising dollars. Instagram is investing time and resources to build relationships with brands and steer them towards creative out of the box mobile marketing campaigns, a win-win.
